The chapter is grateful to Sam Dawson ’80, P.E., who addressed Pike engineering students on March 25 in Austin. Sam, who chairs U.T.’s Cockrell School of Engineering Advisory Board and was a 2013 inductee into Cockrell’s Academy of Distinguished Alumni in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, spoke to Pikes on corporate leadership and management techniques, as well as planning for careers in engineering. Sam is CEO of San-Antonio-based Pape-Dawson Engineers, a second generation civil engineering and environmental consulting firm with 400 employees and four offices across Texas.
